The Beginning
Born in Aberdeen, Scotland I grew up in a lovely little gingerbread house with my younger brother and sister and my mother and father. The local church being at the top of our road and my school being situated at the bottom. Life was good, simple and I was happy.
At the age of five I started at the primary school at the bottom of the road and soon met a group of five girls who we would seen be part of the very exclusive 'Funky Monkeys'! Jade, Molly, Megan, Hannah and Kirsten were my best friends and my the age of seven had mapped out our futures. The Funky Monkey's would become a world famous band and we would all live together in the most luxurious penthouse in London.
I was a confident child, although quiet and studious in class; I most definitely had a bad side. You see being a part of the girl group meant I enjoyed and encouraged it's exclusivity. This involved myself excluding other kids and making sure that the group was not broken apart. I was the peacekeeper and guard of the groups exclusivity. Little did I know that one day I would be the girl on the outside of a group looking in.
To me my life looked great and I was very happy at school and in my local neighbourhood where my friends lived literal doors apart. However my parents were beginning to worry about increasing class sizes, inability to save money and consistent increase in living costs.
Shrek. Yes Shrek was the reason my world was about to change completely. As a special treat and to give my mum some peace my dad had taken myself and my siblings to the cinema. In the queue for popcorn my dad bumped into his old boss and they got talking about his new posting in Malaysia...
